Gatwick North Terminal Facilities

The information below will help get your holiday or business trip off to a hassle-free start after parking at Gatwick.

General Information

Check-in is located on the 2nd floor.

International and European flights - check in 2 hours prior to departure
Domestic flights - check in 1 hour prior to departure

Make sure to check the television monitors listing flight information, as there are no flight calls made at Gatwick. Boarding usually begins about 45 minutes before departure.

Arrivals is located on the ground floor.

International connections do not need to go through Immigrations or Customs, but all International to Domestic connections do.

Domestic to International connections - If baggage is through-checked, the special Immigration checkpoints can be used.

Baggage storage is available in the upper level of the Check-in/Departures area beside check-in Zone F. Charges are £4.00 per item for 24 hours. Open 0600-2200.

Facilities - Departures

Bureaux de Change
  • Thomas Cook has two bureaux (both open 24 hours). One is located by the door to the International Departures security area and the other is opposite the exits to the short term car parks.
  • TTT (open 0545-2230) is located by the door to the International Departures security area.
  • Travelex (open 24 hours) is located in the shopping mall.
Cash Dispensers
  • Barclays, Midland and Nationwide Link ATMs are located near Thomas Cook and the smoking area.
Food & Drink
  • Several options are located in The Avenue on the mezzanine level, including Garfunkel's, McDonalds and Costa Coffee. Visit our Gatwick Airport Restaurants page for details of all the restaurant and bar choices available.
Left Luggage
  • Located opposite British Airways check-in. Charges are £5.50 per item up to 24 hours and £6.00 for each additional 24 hours. Open 0600-2200.
Luggage Trolleys
  • Available free of charge in the 'atrium', just inside the terminal entry doors.
Pay Phones
  • Located throughout the check-in area and the mezzanine level
Postal Services
  • A mail box and stamp machine are located near the door to International Departures, opposite the TTT Bureau de Change.
Shopping
  • Newsagent and bookstore located at check-in
  • The Avenue shopping mall offers a wide range of shops, including The Body Shop, Boots, Dorothy Perkins and W.H. Smith.
Toilets
  • Located at each end of the check-in area, between Zones A/B and E/F, and on the left side of the mezzanine level.
  • Disabled facilities, baby changing areas and showers are available.

Both bureaux are located in the Arrivals hall.

Buses
  • Available from the terminal forecourt

  • Located in main Arrivals area on left hand side
Left Luggage

  • Available at no charge in Baggage Reclaim area
Pay Phones
  • Located in Baggage Reclaim and the main Arrivals area
Places of Worship
  • An inter-faith chapel is located on the Arrivals concourse.
Shopping
  • W.H. Smith and the Arrivals Shop (cosmetics, wine, electrical goods)
Toilets
  • In the Baggage Reclaim area and at each end of the Arrivals hall where there is also disabled access, baby care facilities and showers.

Bureaux de Change
  • Travelex (open 24 hours) on the right after passport control
  • TTT (open 24 hours) near the entrance to Gates 49-56
Entertainment
  • There is a video games area near the Red Lion pub.
Food & Drink

Information Desk
  • Located in the main concourse after passport control
Internet Exchange
  • Located in Departures Lounge, offering internet access, office software, scanning, printing and faxing services (open 0600-2100)
Pay Phones
  • Available on the main concourse and mezzanine levels. Telephone with hearing enhancement is located on the mezzanine floor.
Postal Services
  • Mail box is located after passport control on the left and a photo booth for passport pictures is near The Scotch House shop
Shopping
  • A wide variety of stores, including Austin Reed, Harrods, HMV, Swatch and Waterstones. Most shops are tax-free.
Toilets
  • Located on the main concourse and mezzanine levels
